Melissa was out of surgery by approximately 1pm after 4+hrs in the O.R. I met with Dr. Grossman after the surgery and he said everything went very well during this first operation. The grid of electrodes are in place and Melissa is now in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where they are beginning the E.E.G and video monitoring. I've been able to spend some time with her over the last several hours and she is a bit groggy after the surgery but otherwise is doing great. I also wanted to let everyone know she is able to have visitors now (2 at a time). Here is the information:
